Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern evidence based approach that blends positive psychotherapy (talking elements of SFBT, CBT and NLP) neuroscience and hypnosis(trance) . We focus on what is working rather than analysing problems, distressing memories or past traumas, this method works by helping you focus on your strengths, clarifying your goals and making meaning sustainable progress, one step at a time.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is gentle but powerful, we will help you understand how your brain works in relation to your presented challenges and how you can reduce anxiety and stress levels. We work by engaging both the conscious and subconscious minds, through positive talk it accesses the conscious mind to focus on solutions, while the hypnosis (trance) taps into the subconscious to rewire unwanted patterns and thoughts, creating powerful lasting change on both levels.
I work with people with suffering from stress (which can contribute to many other issues), anxiety, low mood, fears and phobias, IBS, confidence and performance issues, nicotine and other addictions.

About Me
My name is Kelly Mullany (DSFH) I am a fully qualified clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. My practice is in Edinburgh but I can work with you on line from anywhere in the world. I am deeply committed to my work and I know first-hand how powerful it can be to feel truly seen, supported and equipped to change.
I didn't always know that I would be a hypnotherapist. My path here has been shaped by dualities. Light and dark, ease and struggle, joy and grief. it is through these contrasts that I discovered the importance of balance and the power of transformation.
Before this work, I have spent years supporting others in some of life's most challenging spaces, dementia care, physical and mental complex needs, alongside people experiencing homelessness and addiction. I also have a background of working in a forensic setting. These experiences have taught me the value of presence, compassion and holding space for someone at their most vulnerable.
Along my way, I discovered hypnotherapy and it changed my life. Not just in the subtle ways it supports me day to day, but the deep inner shifts and peace it has brought. Experiencing that transformation first-hand has inspired me to train and study to become a hypnotherapist and bring this work to others.
Duality is not just a name. It is a way of living. its about rewilding what's been tamed, reclaiming what's been lost and reintegrating all parts of ourselves. When we learn to lean fully into every part of who we are, the light and the shadow, the soft and the strong. That is where our true power and resilience lie.
All of my roles to date have been about helping people. I am passionate about guiding others to reconnect with themselves, embrace their full strength and step into a life of wholeness, balance and self discovery.

Will I benefit from Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Almost anyone will benefit from hypnotherapy! Often my clients will arrive with a sense of being overwhelmed, stuck and disillusioned with life. Many have tried other therapies without any success. What Is Trance? Will I Lose Control?
Trance is a natural, safe and deeply relaxing state, similar to meditating. Where your brain shifts into theta and alpha waves. These waves are associated with calm, focus, creativity, relaxed alertness and access to your subconscious. You never lose control, you remain fully aware and in charge at all times.
We actually go in and out of trance every day, when we are reading, driving or deeply focused on something. In our sessions I gently guide you into this state intentionally. Where your mind is more focused, receptive and open to positive change. Making it easier to release old patterns, access inner resources and explore transformation. You move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How Many Sessions Will You Need?
Hypnotherapy usually works more quickly than you would expect. Many people see profound changes within 8-12 sessions, though sometimes more may be needed. Hypnotherapy is not magic, but it can feel like it! Transformation happens through a collaborative process, so your commitment and openness play a key role in your healing journey
